 RE: Horse Themed Art Show

Greetings!

We invite you to participate in a Horse Themed Art Show to be exhibited at CNY Artists Gallery in May and June.  Any and all media are accepted, including mixed media. The show will be juried with selection based on artistic merit and relevance to the theme.  The theme includes all aspects of horses and horse related activities.

The show will be held in conjunction with a fundraiser to benefit ReRun, a nonprofit Thoroughbred adoption program whose mission is to rehabilitate, retrain, and find loving, adoptive homes for Thoroughbred racehorses when their careers on the track are over.  This national organization saves hundreds of race horses from slaughter each year. This fundraiser is to benefit our local chapter in Fulton, NY

To attract attention to the show and raise money for ReRun, Moneighs will be displayed for sale at the gallery.  Moneigh®s are original artwork created by famous racing horses using their muzzle, tail and hooves. The word "Moneigh®" came from combining the name of the famous artist, Monet, and the sound that a horse makes, a neigh. Among the paintings to be displayed are work by Olympic Gold Medal jumper Carlsson vom Dach, The Funny Cide, winner of both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, and Cigar, ranked as one of the top US horse champions of the 20th century and inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.  To learn more about ReRun and Moneighs, visit their website at www.rerun.org.

All horse themed art and Moneigh®s will be up for display and sale at CNY Artists Gallery in Shopping Town Mall, DeWitt, NY from May 7 through July 1, 2013.  Advertising will include two months of prime time announcements on WRVO radio station, postings in local events magazines and newsletters, ads in horse trade magazines and newsletters, distribution of posters and postcards throughout Syracuse and surrounding areas, including local equine centers in Cazenovia and Morrisville.

Although this is a fundraiser for ReRun, SALE OF ANY OF YOUR ART WILL BE YOURS  AND CNY ARTISTS  AND NOT PART OF THE FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES. ReRun will appreciate any donations you would care to give.  You will receive 70% of the sale of your artwork and CNY Artists will receive 30% during this promotion.

To submit your art for the jury process,  please deliver your finished piece and completed application to CNY Artists, Shopping Town Mall, Erie Blvd, DeWitt, NY., no later than Saturday April 20th.  If you have any questions, please contact either Peter at psvobod1@twcny.rr.com, cell 315-391-5115 or Dorita at doritareyen@yahoo.com.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to challenge your creativity, and participate in a worthy cause.

 Thank you.

Bloody House

Hi folks,

Some here will remember me.  I've been away on some writing adventures.  I was originally involved on numerous sites, and had to cut back to concentrate on my bread and butter, my published works.  Since I've been gone, I've sold numerous poems and short stories.  Add to this a few books I've had published recently as well as all of the Editing I've been doing on other writer's short stories and Novellas.  My book cover work is advancing too.

The truth behind NETWORKING

Notes about NETWORKING from "The Profitable Artist" by Artspire

Networking

“...is about developing a base of people who will support your efforts and want you to succeed....

Networking is about finding and building relationships with people you care about who are linked to new opportunities, new markets...”

Attend art openings and start making new friends.

“A genuine interest in other people delivers a genuine interest in you.”

Tip

At the Hang Local, Artist and curator Ty Marshal asked me this question:

Maria, you had a lot of art shows last year. What is your secret?

At that time my only response was networking.

Networking did help me find new opportunities to show my art in different venues,

but I realize that I didn't five a complete answer.

The real "secret" that helps me, and many other professional artists,

to showcase my work is the awareness of the many web sites that publish opportunity listings.

Here are some that I check out weekly:

Delightful Deva Tee Shirts!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to post an update about the Delightful Devas.  Although we are still selling the Delightful Devas as canvas wall hangings, the Devas decided they would like to see more of the world.

As a result, they are now available as beautiful ladies tee shirts as well.  This way they able to get out into the world on a more personal level.  Be sure and stop by the CNY Artists' store in Shoppingtown Mall to see them.  They will be vey happy to see you!
